Males do not qualify for mammograms. But do they qualify for bone density scans (dexa)? The Endocrine Society urges men 70 and older to have a dexa scan. If they are underweight or smoke, men 50 to 69 are advised to get the scan.
Will Humana cover dexa scans for males? If so, what is the criteria to qualify?
I had one covered a couple of years ago at 70 based on smoking history. I don't believe that there was any reward for them at that time.
Looking at the EOB the only requirement is that it is based on medical need.
