I can relate. I was going to the gym 4-5 days a week or doing a light jog or fast walk and I still was not losing weight. I basically eat fish, shrimp, and chicken and veggies. I drink plenty of water too. My downfall is wine. I can't pass up on a glass or two, or three of wine. I even have regular bowel movements and take vitamins. I think that my body is missing the protein from meat and the carbs from starchy foods and that is what has been affecting my weight loss or lack there of.
Weight loss is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise. You have to have a calorie deficit of 3500 calories to lose 1 pound. Weight loss also depends on what you eat. Cut out simple carbs (packaged and prepared foods from grocery) and concentrate on filling your plate with 1/4 protein, 1/4 whole grains or starchy vegetables, and 1/2 vegetable and a little fruit. The weight will come off.
30 minutes a day of exercise is to be healthy. You need more to lose weight. In addition to the cardio you are doing, you need strength training twice a week.
Great tips! It is always a good idea to confirm that any lifestyle changes are approved by your doctor as well.
